Special post-fight presser was held fully dedicated to the results of «Big Heart Boxing» tournament and to the main event of the evening at which Sergey Fedchenko (21-0, 9 KO) won a twelve round unanimous decision over Peter Semo (18-1, 13 KO) and thus captured IBF Inter-Continental light welterweight belt. Sergey and his trainer Victor Demchenko were the first to take the floor:

«I feel great about our fight and I must say that Semo was quite a dangerous rival. But this fact makes me even happier after my victory – Sergey said after the fight. – Semo made many early stoppages during his career; he tries to make his every punch to hit as hard as possible: that is why he could hurt badly at any moment in any round. It was quite clear. However, it could be his disadvantage – such obvious intention to hurt. But if he had managed to land accurately it would have been quite upsetting. But fortunately he did not manage to land a single shot of the likes – otherwise I would not be present here. I also have to admit that he possessed great stamina. For me it was the first time to go the distance of 12 rounds – so, for example, in the 8th I wished it were the 12th (smiles). Before our fight we saw video of two rounds only from a Semo bout. Luckily it appeared that in our fight he boxed just exactly like in those two rounds. To go toe-to-toe with such an opponent would be absolutely wrong, but I felt quite comfortable to box as number two in the ring. At the pre-fight presser Semo was sort of arrogant; he showed me how he would cut my throat in the ring. Then I told him to do it in the ring instead of buffoonery. We did not talk to each other before the fight but we, to my mind, had meeting with my rival in the ring – and we did not waste words. I plan to have some rest within the nearest future because I trained really very hard for this fight and then I’ll do my best in order to eliminate prefix «Inter-Continental» from my title».

When ex-champion Peter Semo entered the press-room he was met with applause. «It was a good fight but the result not a good one for me – ex-champ commented. – I entered the ring having only one goal in my mind – to win by KO because it is not possible to win a bout against a local boxer on home turf. Fedchenko appeared to be smart enough to understand it. And, perhaps, if we have rematch I’ll be able to knock him out. I never fought Ukrainians before, although I saw some rounds of his fights and I knew that he is quite fast. Every time I tried to set my distance he threw quick punches and moved around. Now I have to go back to the gym to train more and I expect that my managers will organize rematch or some other big title bouts for me».
