Finally on June 4th a long-awaited presser was held in Kyiv dedicated to big boxing event – «Steel Power» which is to be held in Kyiv Sportpalace on June 14th. In the main event of the evening Vyacheslav Uzelkov (18-0, 11 KO), WBA Inter-Continental light heavyweight champion and one of the key boxers of «K2 East Promotions» promotional company will defend his belt for the second time.
The presser had been awaited with great impatience by boxing journalists and fans because the name of Uzelkov’s opponent had to be named finally.
The presser was opened by Vitali Klitschko, head of «K2 East Promotions». «I am glad to welcome all boxing fans. Again they will have the chance to see boxing show from «K2 East Promotions» in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. In the main event of the evening they will see Vyacheslav Uzelkov, our prospect. I call him a prospect because I hope that soon he will exchange his present belt for the world champion belt. We’ll keep our fingers crossed that Vyacheslav will achieve his dream to become world champion», – Vitali said.
So on June 14th Uzelkov will face undefeated 27-year-old Slovenian Denis Simcic (19-0, 10 KO) who lives and trains in Berlin. For Simcic it will be the first fight outside Germany. German-based Simcic is a hard-hitting puncher – same as Uzelkov. In this respect Vitali Klitschko commented the coming bout as following: «Both Simcic and Uzelkov are undefeated so far but after June 14th only one of them will stay unbeaten. I’m sure that their fight will live up to all expectations and it will end up in such a way that there will be no doubts about the winner – I expect stoppage by KO».
Then Vadim Bukhkalov, Promoter of K2 East Promotions, took the floor. At first Mr. Bukhkalov thanked partners – Kyiv casino “Split”, Ukrainian TV channel “Inter” and world famous brand «Nemiroff», then he wished good luck to Vyacheslav Uzelkov.
Finally the floor was taken by the main hero of the event – Vyacheslav Uzelkov. The 29-year-old Ukrainian fighter promised that he will never lose his belt and that he will do his best in the ring on June 14th to come out victorious. Vyacheslav dedicated his coming fight to his promoter Vadim Bukhkalov, who happened to have birthday just on the day of the presser – June 4th, to famous Ukrainian boxing trainer M.Zavyalov, who has birthday a week late – on June 11th and, of course, to all Ukrainian boxing fans.
In co-feature undefeated Maxim «The Tormentor» Bursak (14-0, 4 KO) will make the first defense of his IBF Youth middleweight belt.
