On December 20th in Zaporizhzhja «K2 East Promotions» will held «Big Boxing» tournament which will be the 10th and the last boxing event organized by «K2 East» in Ukraine this year. In the main event undefeated Vitaliy Rusal (22-0, 16 KOs) will defend his IBO Inter-Continental cruiserweight title against Hungarian Jozsef Nagy (20-2, 12 KOs).
It was planned that both fighters should have clashed on July 5th in Odessa; however, Jozsef Nagy did not manage to leave Hungary due to passport problems. Eventually Rusal fought another Hungarian Laslo Humbert whom Vitaliy managed to KO in round 7.
Ukrainian and Russian fans know Nagy – last year Jozsef fought Russian boxer Denis Inkin and lost by TKO in round 5. This year on May 31st Jozsef Nagy suffered another defeat – he lost by TD to Pole Pawel Kolodziej. Nagy has been fighting on the professional ring since 2003 and at different times he won titles of champion of Hungary, IBF International champion, WBA Inter-Continental middleweight title and also EBA (European Boxing Association) super middleweight title and IBF Inter-Continental super middleweight title.
In the co-event Yuri Nuzhnenko, WBA welterweight champ, will have a non-title 10-rounder. Name of his opponent will be announced later.
An unbeaten 32-year-old who was born in Kiev, Ukraine, Nuzhnenko has a good (27-0-1, 13 KOs) record. The only draw came in his last fight, when he met Irving Garcia from Puerto Rico in April in a bout that contested the interim WBA 147-pound title. The draw was a technical one, as the April fight was stopped because of a head-butt and serious cut of Nuzhnenko.
