In the main event Zaurbek Baysangurov (20-1, 15 KOs), former EBU (European) light middleweight champion will fight Italian Cristian De Martinis (22-2, 10 ÊÎs) for vacant WBA Inter-Continental light middleweight belt. De Martinis is a strong fighter who came victorious in bouts against his rather famous fellow countrymen Massimo Bertozzi and Salvatore Battaglia. In June of 2007 De Martinis claimed EBU (European) welterweight title, however, was defeated by well-known Belgian fighter Jackson Osei Bonsu. Cristian De Martinis suffered his second loss fighting Daniele Petrucci who is still undefeated with 24 wins and 0 losses. Last time Cristian stepped into the ring in November of 2008 and got a unanimous nod from judges in a six-rounder against Cristian Frias while Baysangurov fought last time in Kharkiv on April 22nd and made Mikheil Khucishvili quit sitting on his stool after round 1.
«Our country needs victories and events that will inspire people to success in their life. And sportsmen are the first men to do it for their country. Zaur is a strong fighter and he’ll win the victory for all of us and it will become a symbolic gift for the Day of Kyiv», – Vitali Klitschko, Head of «K2 East Promotions» mentioned in particular in his speech while introducing the «Comeback Fight» boxing tournament.
As Alexander Krasyuk, General Manager of K2 East Promotions pointed out Baysangurov is in perfect shape and good psychological condition and training period is going on in accordance with the plan. «Last February Zaurbek trained in Los Angeles at Freddy Roach’s gym where he mastered his skills. And on May 30th he’ll have a chance to demonstrate it. Furthermore, boxing guru Roach himself gave many valuable pieces of advice to Zaur. Thus, now Baysangurov can hold masterclasses himself», – joked Mr. Krasyuk.
In the co-event unbeaten Maxim Bursak (17-0-1, 6 KOs) will fight Alexander Sipos (19-6-2, 9 KOs) from Germany. Some time ago Sipos was considered to be a prospect – he came undefeated in 18 fights but recently he unfortunately has forgotten the taste of triumph – he lost his last four bouts one by one: to Roman Aramian, Mahir Oral (twice) and Andy Lee. Nevertheless Bursak never fought boxers of Sipos’s level before so the fight may become the most serious test for the Ukrainian.
On the undercard of «Comeback Fight» boxing tournament some more boxers that fight under colors of «K2 East Promotions» will step into the ring as well. These being prospects like Alexander Spirko and Salambek Baysangurov among them together with Croatian heavyweight Mario Preskar and undefeated Dmitrij Nikulin.
«Comeback Fight» boxing tournament fights will be broadcasted live by «Inter» TV channel on May 30th.
