Presser dedicated to the upcoming boxing tournament «World Boxing in Lviv» was held in that ancient and beautiful city in the west of Ukraine. The large-scale boxing show will take place on June 27th at Sportpalace «Ukraine» in Lviv.

Alexander Krasyuk, General Director of «K2 East Promotions»: «We are really very glad to make a present to Lviv boxing fans. In the main event of the boxing evening in Lviv on June 27th famous Ukrainian welterweight Viktor Plotnikov (21-1, 10 KOs) will clash against undefeated Uzbek fighter Sherzodbek Alimjanov (15-0, 10 KOs). Plotnikov and Alimjanov collide for vacant EBA (European Boxing Association) welterweight title. Plotnikov will fight on home turf. The upcoming boxing event is the result of prolific cooperation with our regular business partners – world famous brand «Nemiroff» and «Inter» media-group. And in addition to that we found a reliable partner in Lviv – «Zirky proffessiynogo boxu» («Professional Boxing Stars») company».

31-year-old Plotnikov has been fighting in professional ring for more than 7 years and during that time he managed to gain the reputation of one of the most gifted welterweights not only in Ukraine but in Europe as well. He is a very fast fighter with good skills and fine jab. Plotnikov also possesses strong and perfect right. Earlier in his career he won IBF Eastern Europe and Central Asia Welterweight Title; he owns Global Boxing Union welterweight belt too. Plotnikov defeated Carlos Donquiz, a solid puncher from Venezuela, then Eugenio Monteiro, an experienced Portuguese veteran; strong Russian fighters Roman Seliverstov and Marat Khuzeev were beaten by Plotnikov too.

In his last fight on April 22nd in Kharkiv Plotnikov dismantled in 10 rounds Alexander Benidze, a brave and durable Georgian fighter. Plotnikov lost the only fight in his career in bout against Jackson Osei Bonsu from Belgium who at that time owned EBU (European) welterweight belt. Bonsu fought Viktor Plotnikov on his home turf and after 12 rounds of close fighting all judges gave Jackson Bonsu a unanimous nod, however, with a minimum advantage.

As far as Sherzodbek Alimjanov, Plotnikov’s opponent, is concerned he according to Doniyor Ergashev (President of Professional Boxing Federation of Uzbekistan) is one of the hottest Uzbek boxing prospects. Mr. Ergashev firmly believes that very soon Sherzodbek will claim one of the world champion belts. Alimjanov won all his 15 bouts in the pro ring, out of which 10 were won by KOs. He possessed WBC CIS and Slovenian Boxing Bureau (CISBB) welterweight title and in his last fight against robust Koba Karkashadze Sherzodbek Alimjanov made his opponent quit in 3 rounds. That victory brought Alimjanov a nice trophy – interim WBO Asia Pacific welterweight belt. Sherzodbek Alimjanov is an aggressive puncher who always pays a lot of attention to attacking his rivals’ bodies. Alimjanov aims at KO victory, as a rule, throwing and landing a lot of power punches.

On the undercard there will be clash of heavyweights in which 25-year-old prospect from Croatia Mario Preskar (16-0-2, 10 ÊÎs) who fights under colors of «K2 East Promotions» will face 31-year-old Ukrainian heavyweight Maksym «Iron Max» Pedyura (13-1-0, 11 ÊÎs). The fight will be a kind of comeback for Pedyura who in his previous bout against Alexander Ustinov suffered the first loss. The Preskar vs. Pedyura bout will be broadcasted live to Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Also on the undercard fights of heavyweight Andrei Rudenko (13-0, 6 KOs) and junior middleweight Kostya Rovenskyi (11-0, 2 KOs) who will fight Tursunbay Abdulakimov (11-2, 3 KOs).
