Q&A: Kuvanych Toygonbaev. «In the USA I defeated stronger fighters than Khurtsidze»
On the threshold of his fight against WBA Inter-Continental middleweight champion Avtandil Khurtsidze (19-1-2, 12 ÊÎs) which will be held in Cherkassy on November 20th Uzbek middleweight Kuvanych Toygonbaev (30-5, 19 KOs) commented the upcoming bout: «I saw a short fight video of Khurtsidze and I took the print of my opponent. I think I can win the fight against him. When I boxed in the USA I defeated stronger fighters than Khurtsidze such as Oba Carr or former champion of the world Keith Holmes – I won that bout but I was simply robbed of victory in the fight with Holmes.
For me fight against Khurtsidze is a good chance to renew my career and join the top ten fighters again. In the clash against Dmitry Pirog from Russia I lost, however, I was in bad shape due to shortage of time for preparation. Now I am ready much better – I found out that Khurtsidze would be the man to face me in the ring two weeks ago but I have been training for this fight for quite a long time».
