Uwais Baysangurov, trainer and uncle of Zaur Baysangurov shared with us his outlook on tonight’s fight of his nephew against Frank Shabani (18-1-0, 6 ÊÎs), a well-known boxer from Germany.

«We are not in the position to underestimate Frank Shabani – any opponent could be dangerous at this level of competition. However, Zaur defeated stronger boxers – Marco Antonio Rubio, Eromosele Albert. Shabani is a fighter of European class but not top-notch world level. He represents German school of boxing with all its virtues and drawbacks. Frank is a firm, sturdy boxer, disciplined, persistent and with good defense.

At the same time Shabani like many other German boxers is an unvaried and robotic, he lacks novelty and inventiveness.

I do not think Zaur will face any difficulties in this fight – he has already obtained some experience fighting against boxers of such kind. For example, at the beginning of his boxing career Zaurbek convincingly destroyed German-based Turk Adnan Oezcoban who resembled by style our tonight’s opponent very much.

Nevertheless, we take this fight very responsibly – our camp lasted for two months and Zaur is in perfect shape. Today he is so strong that he could successfully fight against much stronger opponent than Shabani.

I could point out only one problem as usual – we have difficulties in finding top level sparring partners for Zaur, boxers that could offer tough opposition to him during sparring sessions. I do hope that this problem will be solved by Zaur’s next fight».
